Cloudy skies can be expected over southern half of the island.
Showery condition is expected to enhance during 19th-20th February 2017 especially in the southern half of the island and in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Batticaloa via Galle, and Hambantota.
Showers/thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Eastern, Central and Southern provinces.
Showers/thundershowers will develop elsewhere particularly after 02.00p.m.
Heavy showers (around 100mm) are also likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva and Central provinces and in the Batticaloa and Ampara districts.
Due to the active cloudiness in the deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Balapitiya via Pottuvil, Hambantota and Matara, sudden roughness of the sea areas associated with sudden increase of wind speed (up to 70-80kmph) is possible.
Navel and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regards.
