The Southwest monsoon conditions are gradually establishing over the island; hence, the prevailing showery and windy conditions will continue further.

Cloudy skies are expected over the island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Northern provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Heavy showers above 100mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya and Mannar districts.

Several spells of showers will also occur in the North-central province.

Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the island.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
