 Astronomical Information – Ramazan 2020

Beginning of Ramazan

The astronomical New Moon occurs on 23rd of April 2020. On this day Moon sets at 1837 hours and Sun sets at 1818 hours. Though Moon be in the sky above the horizon nearly 19 minutes, it is not seen due to civil twilight.

On the 24th of April moon sets at 1923 hours and Sun sets at 1818 hours. On this day Moon is above the horizon nearly 65 minutes, hence Moon is seen by the naked eye provided the sky is clear.

End of Ramazan

The astronomical New Moon occurs on 22nd of May 2020. On this day Moon sets at 1808 hours and Sun sets at 1821 hours. Therefore moon is no minute above the horizon after Sun sets, hence Moon is not visible.

On the 23rd of May 2020 Sun sets at 1821 hours and Moon sets at 1858 hours. Therefore moon is almost 37 minutes above the horizon after Sun sets, hence Moon is visible to naked eye provided sky is clear.
